What Can I Expect During My Appointment?
During your appointment with Dr. Reyes, he will examine your teeth and determine an appropriate treatment. The result could either be a simple filling, or a full crown, depending on your tooth’s current structure. Shortly after, Dr. Reyes will administer an anesthetic, and will begin preparing your tooth for restoration. After removing decay and weakened tooth structure, he will then take an optical Impression of your tooth.
Unlike filling a tray with an impression mixture and biting down until it hardens, this process requires Dr. Reyes to simply scan your tooth with an intra oral camera to obtain the digital data to fabricate your crown.
Lastly, the CEREC® machine helps Dr. Reyes create your tooth’s restoration. By using the digital picture, the CEREC® 3-D technology converts the image into a 3-D virtual model, and that is sent to our office’s milling machine. After about 20 -30 minutes, your restoration is ready to be secured to your tooth.
